Wellen Park announces plans for ALDI grocery store

ALDI is coming to Wellen Park, the nation’s eighth best-selling master-planned community. The new store will have approximately 12,000 square feet of retail space and is currently under construction. It will be located at U.S. 41 and Mezzo Drive in Venice Plaza, a new commercial shopping plaza near the Costco Wholesale building. The store is anticipated to open by summer 2026.

“The addition of ALDI reflects our continued commitment to expanding the variety of shopping choices in Wellen Park,” said Rick Severance, president of Wellen Park. “Providing our residents and the surrounding area with convenient access to everyday essentials at a range of price points is an important part of supporting Wellen Park’s continued growth.”

Known for its everyday low prices, exclusive brands and efficient store layout, ALDI offers organic meats, fresh produce, sustainable seafood, unbeatable cheese and wine selections, and food for every taste and lifestyle (from gluten-free to plant-based.) Shoppers will also discover weekly offerings of limited-time ALDI Finds like seasonal food, home goods and more.

ALDI experienced explosive growth in 2025, opening nearly 200 new stores. With over 2,600 locations, it is the third-largest U.S. grocer by store count.
