For residents, beaches near Wellen Park offer the best escape from everyday routines. 

Venice Beach is a prime destination boasting not only beautiful beaches but a vibrant atmosphere perfect for families, kids, gatherings, and more. From shopping and dining like a local to awaiting the perfect catch on Venice Fishing Pier, there is something for everyone at Venice Beach — only a short drive from Wellen Park. 

Another driveable beach destination is Caspersen Beach, located approximately 25-minutes from our community. This beautiful hidden gem is the ultimate destination for shelling and searching for shark teeth along the shore. Complete with a canoe launch, fishing pier, and hammocks, Caspersen Beach is a top-tier spot for a full day of relaxing alone or with close friends and neighbors.

For the dog lovers, take a trip to Brohard Beach, the only pet-friendly beach in the area. Supervised dogs are allowed to roam free, though there is a fenced-in doggy play area as well. Other amenities include picnic tables and benches, showers and restrooms, a fishing pier, and drinking fountains for both humans and their canine companions.

Only a 30-minute drive from Wellen Park, Sarasota welcomes an exciting change of scenery. Situated conveniently near our community, Downtown Sarasota is a great day-trip destination for all things shopping, dining, and entertainment. From charming boutiques and galleries to waterfront parks and restaurants, there are endless experiences for the whole family to enjoy. Head here for a prime combination of a busy city and a slow beach town!
