Venice Fishing Pier

When it comes to must-visit destinations for evening fishing along the water, Venice Fishing Pier takes the bait. Just 20 minutes outside of Wellen Park, you can catch stunning sunset views while waiting for your next fish to bite from this newly renovated 720-foot pier. These new updates include fish cleaning stations, as well as lighting fixtures with sea-turtle friendly, under handrail lights.

Halfway down the pier, you’ll find Papa’s Bait Shop, a small shack for rental rods, live bait, and quick snacks. Step back onto shore and head over to Sharky’s On the Pier for fin-tastic take-out, curbside, and dine-in options. Scoop up a Bait Bucket Margarita or New England Style Cod Fish and Chips before, during, or after you spend your day out on the pier.

Venice Fishing Pier is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week with free admission.

South Jetty Beach

Known for its fishing, surfing, sunsets, and Gulf views, South Jetty Beach is another great catch when it comes to fishing any time of day!

Access the South Jetty by entering through Humphris Park, where you will find a variety of amenities from picnic tables and benches to showers and restrooms to food concessions.

Jetty Jack’s is the area’s designated “refreshment deck” where you can still get incredible Gulf views from your car window. Treat yourself to a post-fish afternoon ice cream or stay into the evening to enjoy live entertainment from music to magic.

The South Jetty is open from 6 a.m. to midnight, and you’ll need a valid  Florida fishing license to fish here.

Caspersen Beach

Any-fin is possible at Caspersen Beach where you can catch a wide variety of fish, such as flounder, drum, gar, spotted sea trout, snook, redfish, sturgeon, and more.

Overlooking the Gulf of Mexico and only a 20-minute drive from Wellen Park, this secluded spot is perfect for sitting back on the beach and casting off to catch your fish. You will also find plenty of other friendly fishermen lined along the shoreline, so you know you’re in a great spot!

As an added bonus, take a stroll down Caspersen Beach in search of shark teeth and seashells. Known as the Shark Tooth Capital of the World, Venice Beaches are the best for gathering this unique treasure.

Caspersen Beach is open from 6 a.m. to midnight, and you need your Florida fishing license with you when you fish here.
