Florida Fall Fun: Pick-Your-Own Farms & Pumpkin Festivals

While we believe that the Florida fall season isn’t complete without pumpkin spice lattes, gourd-filled house decor, and the occasional light sweater, you might be curious about new ways to spice up your typical fall fun.

Each year, finding the perfect pumpkin is always at the top of our list. Near Wellen Park, you can take on a weekend trip to nearby ‘pick-your-own’ farms to hand-select your own pumpkins, as well as other fruits and veggies! Be sure to check out their annual fall festivals, too!

Fruitville Grove 

Less than 30 minutes north of Wellen Park, you’ll find Fruitville Grove. Family-owned and operated since 1987, they are passionate about sharing their farm-fresh produce and products from area farmers. 

Each October, they celebrate the fall season with their annual Pumpkin Fest — which, of course, includes a pick-your-own pumpkin patch! With a farmer’s market, live music, hayrides, children’s costume contest each Saturday, and more, this community event is perfect for the entire family.

We spent MLK weekend at @hunsaderfarms making more memories. They just opened a #koacampground which allowed the fun to never stop! Hunsader U-Pick Farms

Hunsader U-Pick Farms is another incredible family-owned and operated pick-your-own farm with lots to choose from. 

During “u-pick” season, you can go right into their field and snag your fruits and vegetables for yourself. In October, you can pick your own black-eyed peas, eggplant, green beans, okra and purple hull peas!

This farm also has an annual October Pumpkin Festival — and, it’s certainly worth the weekend road trip from Wellen Park. Drive over for pumpkins, live music, hayrides and pony rides, corn maze, petting zoo, dog show, and much more!
