While this year’s weekend festivities may not look exactly as we originally planned, we’re sharing our top tips to make your holiday weekend one for the books here in Wellen Park.

 

Backyard BBQ

Take advantage of your very own spacious lanai by hosting a BBQ!

Be sure to stop by Publix in the Marketplace to pick up disposable tablecloths, plates, cups, utensils, and hand sanitizer to make everyone feel comfortable.

Keep your guests entertained all afternoon with cornhole—If you’re a pro, you already know the boards need to be placed 27 feet apart!

 

Day at the Beach

There’s no better way to dive into the holiday weekend than to grab your sunscreen and head to the beach!

Wellen Park is just a quick drive from Manasota Beach, Venice Beach, Caspersen Beach Park, and Brohard Park so you can have your toes in the sand within 15 minutes.

For a fun beach game, we recommend grabbing a bocce set so you can stay apart while sticking with your own ball the entire day.

Don’t forget a speaker to play music and BYOBC (Bring Your Own Beach Chair)  for guaranteed good times.

 

Picnic in the Park

Nothing screams holiday weekend more than a red checkered blanket and a wicker picnic basket!

Avoid the appetizer dips and pack individual foods, such as a sub from Bocca Lupo, Pad Thai from China 1, or even tacos from Irma’s, so you can eat together, but separate.

Don’t forget picnic basket essentials, such as travel-size hand sanitizer and bug spray!
