The Great American Picnic in Downtown Wellen
Downtown Wellen’s Great American Picnic is the perfect way to kick off your Independence Day celebrations. With live music happening all day, your friends and family will be moving and grooving at this spirited event. The celebration doesn’t stop there — we’ve rounded up some of the highlights planned for this freedom festival.
What to eat
Head to The Yard food containers to pick up something delicious. A few of the fast-casual bites we’re craving are:

There is something very American about a little friendly competition, and this year at the Great American Picnic, we are hosting a few of our favorite picnic competition games to keep things fun and festive. Be sure to sign-up for your favorite activity below.
- Enter the pie bake-off for your chance to be crowned the ultimate Wellen Park deliverer of deliciousness.
- A watermelon eating contest, both for adults and youth, to test their skills in downing a slice of watermelon without using their hands.
