Countdown to Downtown Wellen Park: What You Missed and What’s Still to Come
Our 18-month long Countdown to Downtown is in full swing! If you don’t already know, Countdown to Downtown is a robust event series where residents can get a literal taste, feel, and vision for what’s to come once Downtown Wellen’s construction is complete.
Whether you love to get active, curl up with a good book, or appreciate a gourmet meal, there’s a Countdown to Downtown event for you! We’re recapping many of the events that occurred over the past few months, but don’t worry — there are still many vibrant happenings to come so you can live well in Wellen Park.

Seasonal Eats with Expert Pairings
Do you love great food, interesting wines, and conversation with like-minded residents? On the first Tuesday of each month, we’re hosting a four-course dinner with wine pairings, featuring seasonal menus and live music from members of the Venice Symphony. Ring in the new year with January’s dinner and wine tasting.

Putting the “Well” in Wellen Park
Wellness is one of Wellen Park’s core values (it’s even in our name!), so we’re making it easy to cultivate your physical well-being with three different fitness meetups geared towards walkers, cyclists, and runners.
Regardless of which you prefer, all groups will meet at the Welcome Center where a representative will share maps with various trail options. All participants will also receive two drink tickets redeemable at the Barrel & Bean, so you can enjoy a beverage with your new fitness friends!

Book Club with a Buzz
The only thing better than a page-turning book? A cup o’ joe to enjoy with it!
If this sounds like your ideal way to relax, you’d love to join Book Club Buzz, which meets in the Welcome Center on the last Tuesday of each month. Books are supplied by the Sarasota County Library System, and participants can indulge in two free coffees from Barrel & Bean.

A Paint Party for Artists Big and Small
We’ve hosted many one-off events as well, such as the Family Paint Party that took place in November. Families with young artists were provided paint and a paver — their final products are to be immortalized into a walkway of one of Downtown Wellen’s future playgrounds.
