Wellen Park Rises to No. 3 Among Nation’s Top-Selling Master-Planned Communities

VENICE, Fla. (Aug. 7, 2026) – Wellen Park has risen to No. 3 among the nation’s top-selling master-planned communities, reporting 727 new home sales during the first half of 2026, according to the midyear rankings released by national real estate consulting firm RCLCO.

Wellen Park’s sales increased 37% compared to the same period in 2025, far exceeding the nearly 3% sales increase reported collectively among RCLCO’s 50 top-selling master-planned communities. The growth also comes amid a challenging national housing market, with U.S. new home sales declining 5.6% year over year in June.

“Reaching No. 3 nationally reflects the continued strength of Wellen Park and the confidence homebuyers have in the special lifestyle we’re creating,” said Rick Severance, president of Wellen Park. “Our growth is supported by a wide range of home choices, new neighborhoods and continued investment in parks, trails, entertainment, programming, shopping and dining in Downtown Wellen, healthcare, education and the services residents want close to home.”

Wellen Park entered 2026 ranked No. 8 nationally based on 992 new home sales in 2025. Its rise in the midyear rankings reflects continued demand from families, active adults, retirees, seasonal residents and buyers seeking a community that combines residential choice with recreation, amenities, a strong sense of place and convenient access to Gulf Coast beaches.

The community offers paired villas, townhomes, coach homes, condominiums and single-family homes ranging from traditional designs to semi-custom and custom homes. Floor plans and price points appeal to homebuyers across different life stages, including those seeking low-maintenance living and an amenity-rich 55-and-over lifestyle.

New and expanding neighborhoods are adding to those choices. Brightmore, Wellen Park’s first active adult neighborhood, continues to attract buyers seeking resort-style amenities and an active social environment. Palmera offers homes from five national and regional builders, while Westlake, Wellen Park’s newest neighborhood, introduces 156 luxury custom and semi-custom homesites in a gated setting across from Downtown Wellen. Additional neighborhoods are expanding the community’s mix of townhomes, single-family residences and custom home opportunities.

Central to Wellen Park’s appeal is its emphasis on wellness, outdoor recreation and community connection. Residents enjoy access to more than 40 miles of trails and pathways linking neighborhoods with parks, lakes, preserves, Downtown Wellen and recreational destinations throughout the community. New parks, green spaces and outdoor gathering areas continue to expand opportunities for movement, recreation and social interaction as part of everyday life.

Downtown Wellen serves as the community’s vibrant social hub, offering waterfront dining, retail, entertainment, community events and gathering spaces designed to bring residents together year-round. New shops, restaurants and other stores have begun opening in the fully leased 44,000-square-foot second phase, further expanding the lifestyle and conveniences available to residents and visitors.

Wellen Park’s appeal is also supported by expanding access to healthcare, education and everyday services. New and planned medical facilities, nearby schools and a growing commercial footprint within and adjacent to the community are bringing more of the services residents need closer to home, reinforcing Wellen Park’s position as a well-rounded, connected place to live.

“Buyers are being thoughtful about where they invest, particularly in today’s market,” said Severance. “Wellen Park offers value beyond the home itself, with established amenities, diverse neighborhoods and a long-term vision that gives residents confidence in the community’s future.”

RCLCO has published its Top-Selling Master-Planned Communities report since 1994. The rankings are based on total new home contracts, net of cancellations, as reported by each community.
