Introducing The Banyan House, Downtown Wellen’s Premier Lakefront Restaurant

We’re turning Wellen Park’s waterside vibes all the way up with the announcement of The Banyan House, which is set to be Downtown Wellen’s landmark lakefront restaurant and exclusive event caterer for Solis Hall, Wellen Park’s event venue for celebrations and special gatherings. Discover all the details of what you can anticipate from this new American restaurant boasting a scenic setting and creative cuisine.

What To Expect

The Banyan House will be located right on the water’s edge of Downtown Wellen’s 80-acre Grand Lake, so patrons will be surrounded by scenic views and fresh air while enjoying orangewood-fired seafood, steaks, and other coastal delicacies.

The restaurant’s open, light-filled interiors by Tampa-based api(+), ArchitecturePlus International are centered around a large wood-fired grill and will pay tribute to the restaurant’s namesake with 20-foot-tall lifelike banyan tree sculptures.

Creative Cuisine, Three-Fold

The Banyan House team will be the exclusive caterers of events hosted at the neighboring Solis Hall, Wellen Park’s future event space, which is slated to host a myriad of events ranging from weddings to family reunions.

With their Claw and Co. lobster roll concept, the team also plans to be part of The Yard, a casual hub for food and fun coming to Downtown Wellen.

A Restaurant That Makes A Place Special

Highly anticipated, The Banyan House is an exciting project for all involved, especially Wellen Park’s president Rick Severance, future owners and brothers David and Dennis Valentino, and their partner, Mark Costanzo.

Severance believes The Banyan House “will become a local favorite for both residents and the regional community to connect over a shared experience, gather with family and friends, and celebrate milestones and everyday moments.” David Valentino doubled down on this idea and stated that great local restaurants like The Banyan House can give a community a sense of identity, “when someone visits your hometown, there’s always a place you’ve got to take them to, and so often it’s a local restaurant.”

The Banyan House is expected to open in November 2022, along with the completion of Downtown Wellen’s first phase, and we couldn’t be more excited. Stay tuned for more announcements, and we hope to see you by the Grand Lake for The Banyan House’s grand opening this fall!
