There are two ways to enjoy this scenic park – by land or by water. A 0.4-mile trail will loop you through a boardwalk lined with trees to a picnic area and the shore of the Myakka River. If you prefer to experience by water, launch a canoe or kayak downstream to the Myakka River Rookery.

If you’re looking for a destination to enjoy Florida’s nature with the whole family, take the short 10-minute drive from Wellen Park for the day!

Atwater Community Park

Beat the summer heat, Atwater Community Park should be top of your list.

This North Port attraction is home to four Little League fields and, when you’re done tossing the ball around, a splash pad provides a welcome cool down spot.

It’s also a great location to host a party. With ample seating, open-air pavilions, and a sports-themed playground, it’s the perfect spot to keep the kids busy this summer.
