The Yard: Fast Casual Dining at Downtown Wellen

It’s official — there will be three more new places to grab a bite when you visit the future Downtown Wellen! Claw & Co. will serve up New England seafood, Agapi will feature health-conscious Greek food, and Pop Dawgs will offer ballpark fare. All of these spots will be offering fast-casual cuisine at The Yard, a new home for freshness and fun in the Wellen Park community.

Setting The Scene

So, what is The Yard? Picture a hub of activity, an outdoor center to gather, and a spot to head to when you need a quick yet delicious meal. The Yard will be located outdoors by the Great Lawn and 80-acre Grand Lake, flanked by a 100-year-old heritage oak tree, lounge deck, creative playground, splash pad, and other lounge areas designed for connections to nature and community.

Each of the three dining concepts will be located in a unique retrofitted shipping container — just like the ones used to construct Kind Vibes Outfitters, Wellen Park’s kayak, paddleboard, bike, and gear rental building.

Claw & Co.: Casual New England Style Seafood

Dubbed the “casual sister” of what’s to be Wellen Park’s flagship lakefront restaurant, The Banyan House, Claw & Co. will feature simple yet authentic New England fare. The New American food at this fast-casual spot is meant to be a comfort to those who have flocked down from up north to our neck of the woods in Wellen Park.

Claw & Co. menu teaser: Warm and cold lobster rolls, fried clams and fried clam bellies, clam chowder, lobster bisque, New England brews, and regional sodas will all be available.

Agapi: Greek Street-Food 

Did you know that Agapi is the Greek word for love? That’s how you’ll feel about the always fresh and healthy options available at this Greek street-food eatery. 

We’re keeping things in the family — Agapi is owned by two Wellen Park residents who also happen to be the minds behind Mirabella’s, a brick-and-mortar coastal Italian restaurant also coming soon to Downtown Wellen.

Agapi menu teaser: Kabobs with beef, chicken, mixed seafood or vegetables, hummus and tzatziki, Greek salads, spanakopita, stuffed grape leaves, baklava, Greek beers, and sangria juice boxes will all be available.

Pop Dawgs: Ballpark Fare 

The World Series-winning Atlanta Braves are a huge part of our culture since the team’s Spring Training home base, CoolToday Park, is located right here in Wellen Park. That’s why we’re incorporating Pop Dawgs, a highlight tape of CoolToday Park’s ballpark fare, into The Yard. 

Pop Dawgs menu teaser: Chicago-style hotdogs, butter-garlic and chocolate pretzels, butter-soaked popcorn with sea dust, and caramel potato sticks featuring seasonal flavors encompass just a few menu items.

Are you as excited (and hungry) as we are? Now 100% leased, tenants in the first phase of the highly anticipated Downtown Wellen expect to begin interior build-outs in the coming months.
